Diana Brownstone was born in New York City and danced with New York City Ballet in repertory as a student. At thirteen she was awarded a scholarship to American Ballet Theatre while she attended the High School of The Performing Arts, aka the “FAME’ school . She also was a principal dancer in the movie. Diana danced with ABT’s touring company, The Feld Ballet, The Metropolitan Opera Ballet as well as numerous guest artist roles around the country. Diana studied classical theatre and Shakespeare with the founding director of the New York Shakespeare Festival, Joel Friedman. She performed Comedy Improv at TheatreSports NY and with her own group “Skitmarks”.
Diana went on to sing and dance in numerous Broadway shows and has appeared on television on the Tony Awards and on Irving Berlin’s 100th Birthday Celebration at Carnegie Hall. Her Broadway credits include “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” (original Broadway revival cast), Hal Prince’s “Parade” (original Broadway cast), and “Hal Prince’s “Candide” (original Broadway revival cast). Her film and TV credits include Kate and Leopold, The Sopranos, Blue in the Face, The Nanny Diaries, Howard Stern’s Private Parts, Law and Order, and The Meredith Vieira Show. In addition to roles in numerous National tours and Regional productions, Diana has written and performed her own original comedy characters which you can see on this site.
